Class Reflection
Throughout this semester I learned proper MLA poem citing. I know how to make a blog now. My view of literature hasn't shifted tremendously. This semester of English made me realizes how in-depth poems can really be. You can pick up on something new every time that you read the same poem so it adds that little revisit factor. If you rewatch a movie or re-read a book, you could pick up on new things but it wouldn't be as significant as picking up on something new in a poem. This is because poems are more abstract and most tend to be of issues so their sort of on a broader scale and have more of a range.
This wasn't a writing heavy class so I don't think my writing has changed that much if at all. I've never done blog posts before this though so that created a new dynamic in writing that I've never experienced. I feel this class was more geared toward understanding and analyzing literature more than writing.
As a thinker, I think I've definitely grown. Due to these high-level poems that we had to read throughout the semester it kind of forced me to think a little deeper. I wasn't getting any meaning out of some of the poems without really thinking about it. I don't have a favorite part of the class but the takeaway for me was definitely learning how to cite poems. I had no clue that was a thing.
