A Little About Ernest Hemingway's


Ernest Miller Hemingway was born on July 21st, 1899. He went to public school and he began to write in high school. He was active within his school newspaper, "Trapeze and Tabula". After high school, Hemingway went on to work for the Kansas City Star. A newspaper company that helped him gain experience but limited his creative output.

Hemingway was well known for his intense masculinity within his writing as well as, for his adventurous and publicized lifestyle.  Hemingway was a writer who loved to travel. He'd travel to various locations to partake in activities like skiing, bullfighting, fishing, and hunting. His later writings took heavy influence from all his adventures.

In 1918, Hemingway served in World War I as an ambulance driver within the Italian Military. Hemingway was awarded the Italian Silver Medal of Bravery. While serving, Hemingway became victim to war injuries that unfortunately put the man into a hospital. It was at the hospital however, where Hemingway met the love of his life Agnes Von Kurowsky. She would go on to leave Hemingway for another man. This is when Hemingway's writing really progressed and he would go on to marry 5 other women and have kids with two of them. After receiving multiple injuries throughout his life and battling depression, on July 2nd, 1961 Hemingway committed suicide in his home.
